Ghia Non-Alcoholic Le Spritz - Sumac & Chili

It's dry, spicy, and delightfully sour — with sumac, chili, and bitter orange leading the way. The emphasis really is on the spicy, so it's one for people who like a little heat in their glass.

Serve it straight from the fridge, well chilled, or dress it up by pouring over ice and adding a garnish.

Each can is 8 fl oz and made with water, yuzu juice, white grape juice concentrate, plus botanical extracts including elderflower, chili pepper, sumac berry, gentian root, ginger, and rosemary, along with date and plum concentrates and a touch of sea salt.

Ghia was founded by Mélanie Masarin, a former Glossier and Dig Inn alum who created the brand as a bitter, Mediterranean-inspired aperitif rather than a sugary mocktail. The company is based in Los Angeles, California, where its headquarters sits in a Tudor house in the Hollywood Hills, and it launched direct-to-consumer in the US in 2020. That's the same team behind both the 535 mL aperitif bottle and the ready-to-drink Le Spritz cans we carry.

For a drink to be legally non-alcoholic, it has to be 0.5% alcohol by volume or less. While this doesn't make it totally alcohol-free, it does mean it is impossible to experience any intoxication or other psychoactive effects from alcohol. For context, a slice of sourdough bread or a ripe banana has more alcohol by volume than any of our drinks!

Not all of our non-alcoholic beverages are 100% alcohol-free. Some contain trace amounts of alcohol at less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.  This is consistent with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s labeling policy, which permits the use of the term, “non-alcoholic” to describe a product that contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.

Non-alcoholic spirits are specifically developed for mixing in non-alcoholic cocktails. These spirits taste great when mixed with soda water, tonic water, sodas, juices, and even other non-alcoholic spirits, but they might taste a little weird on their own. You're welcome to try them neat (we can't stop you!), but we don't recommend assessing whether or not you like a non-alcoholic spirit without mixing it, first.
