Lyre’s Non-Alcoholic Amaretti

It leans into the classic Italian amaretto profile: rich almond with spice, nuts and candied vanilla. It's medium-sweet, so it sips easily on its own or balances nicely against citrus in a cocktail.

Pour it over ice as a digestif, shake it into a non-alcoholic Amaretto Sour with fresh lemon and orange juice plus an egg white for froth, or spoon it over ice cream with a shot of espresso for an Affogato.

It's a 700 ml bottle, which works out to about 23 one-ounce servings. Each 1 fl oz serving has 25 calories and 5g of sugar.

Lyre's is a non-alcoholic spirits company founded in 2019 by Australian entrepreneurs Mark Livings and Carl Hartmann. The brand was founded in Sydney, Australia, and its name is a nod to the lyrebird, an Australian bird known for mimicking sounds — a fitting reference for spirits made to echo the classics. Today Lyre's sells in more than 60 countries and runs offices in cities including London, Sydney, New York, Singapore, Amsterdam and Shanghai.

For a drink to be legally non-alcoholic, it has to be 0.5% alcohol by volume or less. While this doesn't make it totally alcohol-free, it does mean it is impossible to experience any intoxication or other psychoactive effects from alcohol. For context, a slice of sourdough bread or a ripe banana has more alcohol by volume than any of our drinks!

Some contain trace amounts of alcohol at less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.  This is consistent with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s labeling policy, which permits the use of the term, “non-alcoholic” to describe a product that contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.

Non-alcoholic spirits are specifically developed for mixing in non-alcoholic cocktails. These spirits taste great when mixed with soda water, tonic water, sodas, juices, and even other non-alcoholic spirits, but they might taste a little weird on their own. You're welcome to try them neat (we can't stop you!), but we don't recommend assessing whether or not you like a non-alcoholic spirit without mixing it, first.
