Lyre’s Orange Sec Non-Alcoholic Liqueur

700 mL<0.5% ABV

Certainly sweet. Lyre's Orange Sec is a non-alcoholic liquer comparable to Triple Sec. An orange, jaffa, and mint bouquet precedes soft, sweet orange on the palate. Simply alternate Orange Sec in any recipe that calls for Triple Sec, or go half and half for a low-ABV cocktail.

What does Lyre's Orange Sec taste like?

It's certainly on the sweet side, opening with a bouquet of orange, jaffa, and mint, then settling into soft, sweet orange on the palate. It's built to taste comparable to a classic Triple Sec.

Can I swap it 1:1 for Triple Sec in cocktails?

Yes — it's designed as a true 1:1 replacement, so use it in any recipe that calls for Triple Sec. You can also go half and half with regular Triple Sec if you'd like a lower-ABV version of a drink.

What's the best way to use it at home?

It's a tasty addition to Margaritas, and a splash in a cup of sweet black coffee makes for a sophisticated treat. The 700 ml bottle gives you plenty for mixing.

Who makes Lyre's and where are they located?

Lyre's is a non-alcoholic spirits company founded in 2019 by Australian entrepreneurs Mark Livings and Carl Hartmann. The brand was founded in Sydney, Australia, and its name is a nod to the lyrebird, an Australian bird known for mimicking sounds — a fitting reference for spirits made to echo the classics. Today Lyre's sells in more than 60 countries and runs offices in cities including London, Sydney, New York, Singapore, Amsterdam and Shanghai.

What does it mean to be 0.5% ABV?

For a drink to be legally non-alcoholic, it has to be 0.5% alcohol by volume or less. While this doesn't make it totally alcohol-free, it does mean it is impossible to experience any intoxication or other psychoactive effects from alcohol. For context, a slice of sourdough bread or a ripe banana has more alcohol by volume than any of our drinks!

Are your products safe to consume during pregnancy?

We carry a few hundred different products on our website with all different ingredients. We suggest you consult with your doctor regarding specific ingredients. Everything we carry is non-alcoholic-- less than 0.5% ABV-- and very popular with our customers who are pregnant (and those who aren't, too)!

Some of our products contain adaptogens, nootropics, and other herbs that are not recommended for people who are pregnant, but we're not doctors and do not give medical advice. Every body and pregnancy is different, so we suggest talking to a healthcare professional if you're unsure.

Are all of your products 100% alcohol free?

Not all of our non-alcoholic beverages are 100% alcohol-free. Some contain trace amounts of alcohol at less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.  This is consistent with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s labeling policy, which permits the use of the term, “non-alcoholic” to describe a product that contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.

If you are looking for products that are 0.0% alcohol by volume, look for the "Alcohol-Free" badge on the product page.

Can I drink a non-alcoholic spirit “neat” (by itself)?

Non-alcoholic spirits are specifically developed for mixing in non-alcoholic cocktails. These spirits taste great when mixed with soda water, tonic water, sodas, juices, and even other non-alcoholic spirits, but they might taste a little weird on their own. You're welcome to try them neat (we can't stop you!), but we don't recommend assessing whether or not you like a non-alcoholic spirit without mixing it, first.
