Combine 2 ounces of NA bourbon with .25 ounces of the mix — add a little more if you like things sweeter. Stir over ice, strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice, and garnish with an orange peel, a cocktail cherry, or both.

Not at all. It's great with any NA whiskey or bourbon, and equally delicious with rye, aged rum, or aged tequila.

Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. is a family-run mixer company started in 2010 by cousins Brooks Reitz and Taylor Huber, who named it after their great-grandfather. The company is based in Charleston, South Carolina, where Reitz lives, with a second home base in Lexington, Kentucky, where Huber is based. Reitz first developed the original small-batch tonic syrup in his own kitchen, and it's still the brand's best-known product.

For a drink to be legally non-alcoholic, it has to be 0.5% alcohol by volume or less. While this doesn't make it totally alcohol-free, it does mean it is impossible to experience any intoxication or other psychoactive effects from alcohol. For context, a slice of sourdough bread or a ripe banana has more alcohol by volume than any of our drinks!

Some contain trace amounts of alcohol at less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.  This is consistent with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s labeling policy, which permits the use of the term, “non-alcoholic” to describe a product that contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.
