Six of the best non-alcoholic spritzes for season’s end
We've tried every non-alcoholic spritz on the market. Here are our favorites.
Spritzes have been around for a while. Actually, they've been around for ages - since at least the days of ancient Greeks and Romans. They've always been a summer staple, but recently they've grown into something more. They've attained cult classic status, and a non-alcoholic spritz is becoming easier to find and enjoy.
You can get a great non-alcoholic spritz almost anywhere, and one of our favorite places to enjoy them is at home. Few things take the edge off a long day like an excellent spritz. And it's the perfect drink to share with friends or sip on with a partner.
We've rounded our six favorite non-alcoholic spritzes for you to try at home.Let's get into it.
Wilfred's Bittersweet AperitifWilfreds, One of our top-selling Non-Alcoholic Spritz
An award-winning premium non-alcoholic spritz, Wilfred's Bittersweet Aperitif is a delicious blend of rosemary, bitter orange, rhubarb and clove. Incredibly well balanced, citrus notes give way to satisfying herbal bite.
It's excellent any time or for any occasion.
To enjoy, mix 1 part Wilfred's with 2 parts Premium Tonic, add ice and garnish with orange.
Although the name, verjus, literally means "green juice", Noble's non-alcoholic is a beautiful honey brown. The green part comes from the ingredients - it's made up largely of the tart juice from unripened grapes. Not quite what you were expecting on this list? Wait for the spritz.
Tart, bitter, and high in acidity, Verjus has a delicate mouth feel and immediately adds depth and balance to any cocktail (it's why so many bartenders love it).
There are any number of drinks you can create with Verjus, and we strongly encourage you to try as many as you're up for, but it has to start with the alcohol free Verjus Spritz.
Our favorite recipe comes from our friend Julia Bainbridge's Good Drinks book:
1 shot of Verjus
1 shot of tonic water
1 shot of club soda
Toss in ice, and you've got a great spritz.
Pull this one out at dinner parties to impress and delight.
Curious Elixirs makes a great -albeit unusual - non-alcoholic spritz
Booze-free Aperol spritz in a bottle, Curious Elixirs No.4 is delicious and easy drinking with lively bubbles, strong citrus notes, and a good herbal kick.
Each bottle contains two cocktails, and all you need to enjoy it is two glasses and some ice. Orange garnish is a nice touch.
Ideal for any occasion, we enjoy it most on the beach. Sunset sold separately.
See the Spritz Collection in The Zero Proof Bottle Store For Bitter For Worse - Eva's SpritzA non-alcoholic Aperitivo with a satisfying zing, Eva's Spritz tastes as good as it looks - and it looks amazing. A beautiful rosy orange colour, it's an excellently balanced blend of rhubarb and a dozen other botanicals.
A cocktail hour classic, just pop the top and pour over ice and garnish with an orange slice. It's also delicious served iced cold and neat.
Kin Euphorics' perennial favorite, Kin Spritz is delicious, functional and easy to enjoy. The sparkling euphoric contains rhodiola and other nootropics to lift your mood and combat stress.
Refreshing sparkles give way to notes of fresh citrus, warm spice, hibiscus and ginger with a nice bitterness.
Perfect straight out of the can, you can also serve it on ice.
Lyre's best tasting product, Aperitif Rosso
This one's in a league of its own. An award-winning non-alcoholic sweet vermouth, Lyre's Aperitif Rosso does it all. Yes, it makes an excellent spritz, but you can also use it in an Americano or a Manhattan.
Pop the top and you're met with a bouquet of citrus, almond, and vanilla and saffron notes. Blood orange and vanilla are the first flavors you taste, followed by a smooth, caramel, citrusy finish.
Pour over ice, top with club soda, and garnish with citrus of your choice for a spiritz like no other. Excellent for cocktail hour, dinner parties, or whenever you feel like something a little special.
That's it from us, let us know which non-alcoholic spritz is your favorite!
Cheers,
Sean & Trevor
