Caramel Non-Alcoholic Stout Affogato
Your list of go-to non-alcoholic beer recipes has to include a dessert beverage or two so why not start with this affogato? The contrast of the cold gelato and hot espresso is divine while the stout itself serves as this incredible foundation for the dessert resulting in pure decadence in a glass. The use of gelato works so well in this recipe because it is slower to melt meaning it can stand up to the heat of the hot espresso. As for why salted caramel gelato is suggested, the reason is simple. You want a flavor that won't be overwhelmed by the espresso and stout and salted caramel is ideal. Yes, vanilla will work but it doesn't add any dimension to the dessert whereas the salted caramel enhances the overall taste sensation by bringing the sweet-salty balance. Make sure to serve this with a dessert spoon and a straw. You'll need both.
